My Mom is Fantastically Awesome

Kina and I were hanging out on Wednesday and on the way to church we were talking about my mom. We were saying how she is our favorite person and we love spending time with her. We were also saying how my mom is the best friend anyone could ask for! All these things are so entirely true! My mom is way cool...if you know her, you know that she is a one of a kind friend that you are lucky to have in your life. There are so many things about my mom that are awesome but here are a couple that i think about alot.

My mom is -

Selfless - My mom will oftentimes put whatever she wants or whatever she is doing on the back burner to come over and help me. She will watch Conner whenever I need it, she always acts as if she is happy to see me and she never complains when we come over and mess up her house with toys and stuff. My mom has come over to my house at least once a week....and for THREE WEEKS straight after I had the baby, and everytime she comes she helps me clean and organize so much. I know that my mom gets tired and I know that she probably has other things to do sometimes but she never lets me know that. She always acts as if I am her first priority!

Generous - My mom is soooo generous....if you know her, I am sure that you have gotten a present from her at some time or another. My mom is constantly thinking of me and my family. Everytime I see my mom she has something for me or the boys or for Jeremy....She is thoughtful of the things that I need, but she is also thoughtful of the things that I want. Every Tuesday before my mom comes over she calls to see if I want an Iced Coffee...and then she shows up at my house with an Iced Coffee for me, and something for Conner. She is so nice.

Encouraging - My mom always is thinking about others, even in her words! She always has a nice thing to say to me...but not just to me, she is always saying something nice to someone or about someone. I have learned from my mom to not just think nice things, but to actually say them to people! My mom is always the first to compliment on a outfit, hairdo, or song that was sung in church...she notices little things and makes you feel like you are the coolest person in the world b/c you are you! When my mom comes to my house, even as she is helping me...she never tells me how i need to improve, (even though I know I need improvement) but she always gives me suggestions that make me feel important like I helped think of them. She does not belittle me and make me feel worthless, she makes me feel important.

Spiritual - I appreciate my mom more and more the older I get for being spiritual b/c the older I get the more I realize just how honest and true my mom is. When I was younger I used to wonder why my mom wouldn't lighten up about stuff like other peoples parents...but now that I am older and I see the life that those other people lead...I am disgusted with the hypocrisy of it all. I love my mom b/c what you see is what you get. She does not get up in front of people and say a bunch of spiritual things thinking that everyone else needs to apply them but that she doesn't have to. No! She lives the Christian life and she takes it personal...My mom has a personal relationship with Jesus and it is obvious!

Fun - I have lots of fun with my mom! We always laugh about things until we cry! I think that Some of my fondest memories are when my Dad or I will say something funny and Mom will laugh and laugh and she will say, "You and your father are so funny, you two have the same funny sense of humor." And we do =) But my mom enjoys life...she doesn't just sit on the sidelines and let life pass her by, she enjoys it and lives it to its fullest extent.

I guess some people are scared of turning into their mothers, but the older I get and the more I get to know my mom, I realize that I want to be just like mine!
